Description

 

Performs difficult protective service work as a Firefighter, extinguishing fires, safeguarding lives, salvaging property, and providing basic life support as an emergency medical technician.  Depending upon duty assignments, a Firefighter may also perform specialty rescue work as well as participating in or completing Fire Engineer responsibilities requiring extra training and responding to related calls.  

 

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

 

Valid NC Driver's Class "B" License, North Carolina Firefighter Level II Certification,  and a minimum of North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician Certification

Hiring Salary

 

$33,883.20 (Grade 19), Part-time $288.00 per 24hr Shift

Patrol Officer 

Description

The City of Randleman (pop 4,400), located approximately 15 miles south of Greensboro in Randolph County, North Carolina is seeking a Patrol Officer to join our progressive organization.  Responsibilities include performing general duty law enforcement work in varied areas of the department including patrol, investigating traffic accidents, investigating criminal activity, serving warrants, traffic law enforcement, responding to domestic disputes, and other duties, as assigned. Position is highly visible in the community and exercises visible presence to prevent or abate crime.  Employees must have the ability to develop a positive public image, display tact and firmness when interacting with criminal suspects or witnesses, apply reasoned and experienced judgement and discretion, and project a positive attitude.

Education and Experience Requirements

Graduation from high school or GED equivalency is required.

Special Requirements

Valid North Carolina Driver’s License; Must have obtained and be able to maintain Basic Law Enforcement Certification (BLET) as a law enforcement officer by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission (required to be continuously employed).  Position does require some special physical requirements (see attached position description for details).
