FLEET MECHANIC I

Description

The City of Randleman (pop 4,400), located approximately 15 miles south of Greensboro in Randolph County, North Carolina is seeking a Fleet Mechanic I to join our progressive organization.  Responsibilities include performing routine skilled mechanical work on a variety of automotive, construction and specialized equipment.  Work includes but is not limited to performing scheduled preventative maintenace service and diagnosing problems on fleet vehicles, performing motor lube, oil, repair and replacement work as well as assisting Fleet Mechanic II with work, as needed, and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

Graduation from high school or GED equivalency is required.  Some experience in repairing automotive and heavy duty equipment preferred.

Special Requirements

Valid North Carolina Driver’s License; Position does require some special physical requirements (see attached position description for details).

Hiring Salary

$30,732.00 - $35,854.32
